Grand Bay State Bank (1913)Located at the corner of Dezauche Lane and Freeland Ave. The Grand Bay State Bank was located in this building from 1913 to 1929. It was used as the post office from 1933 to 1975. Project use of the Grand Bay Bank will be as a branch of the Mobile Public Library .

Albert Freeland Store (1911)Located on Dezauche Lane The grocery store sold everything from seeds to farm equipment and a dentist occupied one of the upstairs rooms. It was run by the Van Amburg family and known as Van Amburg's store in the 1960's and the Harper family ran the store until1975. Proposed use of this building and grounds will primarily be an historical center with displays of Grand Bay history, meeting areas for art, cultural and public events. Plans would include holding outdoor Market Days and town gatherings on the adjacent land.. |
